Our Clients Improve Their Quality of Life

Why Muscle Up is working for me: Following my trainer’s recommendations, I committed to "not weighing" myself throughout my fitness journey – this was extremely difficult, as I was “addicted” to seeing the numbers on the scale and interpreting these as successes and failures and triggering the "guilt" cycle. I now focus on nutrition and fitness, and am happy to observe positive changes in my body and wellbeing.

Obesity has been a lifelong struggle. I have attempted many different weight-loss programs (calorie counting, portion size, protein based, low carb). Upon the advice of a concerned friend I contacted Frances Michaelson, a licensed naturopath and personal trainer at Muscle Up. From the first meeting it became clear to me that this would be a lifestyle change and that I would have to work hard at it. I have been coached on how and what to eat. I began a program of physical training under the supervision of a personal trainer.
The changes that I have made have helped me loose over 60 lbs and 7 inches off my waist. I am physically active and have lots of energy. For anyone to make seriuos lifestyle changes, it is necessary to get the help from a professional and commit to appointments. If you would have asked me how I felt a year ago I would have answered "OK". I now feel "GREAT" and intend to stay that way.

We quickly discovered that a trainer driven system makes all the difference. Weekly monitoring of nutritional intake and physical output left us nowhere to hide. This multi-disciplinary approach also opened us up to the benefits of organic supplements. With individual plans based on our physical needs, John has lost 25 lbs over the past five months. His physical shape has changed and his energy has increased. I have lost 12 pounds and 3 inches from my waist and have now added the Saturday morning Power Yoga to my program. Lifestyle changes have definitely improved our quality of life and Muscle Up has played a key roll in reaching our goals.

Muscleup has given me physical and emotional strength resulting in an increased self confidence and feeling of well-being. This has allowed me to lead a more active, rewarding life and to experience a more positive outlook on my world. I began training at age 69 and still growing strong at 76!

I had signed up at many gyms before this and could not find time to fit training into my busy schedule or stick to it. It only took a few sessions at Muscle Up to realize this was unlike your average gym. The dedicated and approachable trainers and staff do their best to find a routine that works for me, taking into consideration my goals and my lifestyle. My trainer Rob has done an absolutely amazing job with educating me in proper techniques and how to live a well balanced lifestyle that I can live with and stick to for the long haul. I have noticed since joining Muscle up that there is a direct correlation between how good I feel and the amount of time spent in the gym. So sign up, you won't regret it.

Here at Muscle Up, I am enjoying the opportunity to develop my muscles and get in better shape for sports. Before coming here, I found playing sports at school very difficult. Now I throw better, run faster, run longer and I am also more flexible. The difference didn’t take long to see, just a few sessions and I already felt better. After a while, my dad and mom started going to Muscle Up! I have learned how to eat better and how important it is to have a trainer guide you towards the right exercises.
